Family Session | Downtown Austin, TX

This was a lovely session - this family had recently relocated from CA and wanted to have a really Austin photo session. It was so fun to go over options with them and find one that fit their aesthetic.

What is "Lifestyle" Family Photography?

To me, lifestyle photography simply means client-led and family-led photo sessions. I want to capture you in your stage of life right now. This photo, for example, is from a session at HomeSlice in east Austin. That was this couple's favorite restaurant and it was important to them at this stage in their life. We were also celebrating a little girl to come. The big sister to be was clearly leading this part of the session - and that allowed us to get these sweet authentic smiles! And those bottom two teeth are just so sweet.

These sessions aren't about poses and rules. You and any kids, partners, pets, grandparents, etc are welcome to sit, stand, walk, run, play however suits you. I will loosely guide the session to make sure we get photos of everyone together and in all the desired combinations, but ultimately I am there *for you*.

I like to think that these sessions are stress free and go with the flow. Its all about having fun and documenting your family in this season. Because you'll never be back here again, and it really is the longest shortest time.

This sweet family has twin girls - as a twin mom myself I love the dynamics you get to uncover in a session like this! They may look similar - but their personalities can be as different as black and white. These sweet girls were a pleasure to work with. And those twirly dresses!
