This couple - amazingly beautiful inside and out - made our session at Seaholm power and light *so* fun and chill. It is a great area that works at most times of day - a great quality from a location for either busy couples or families with naptimes and bedtimes to take into account. We can get a great variety within a very small radius.
Photographing families in downtown Austin is such a pleasure - but finding a location that works for families with young kids (safely) and perhaps in harsh midday sun (those little ones always run the schedule!) can be tricky! Creating family portraits in and around the Central Library on Cesar Chavez in downtown Austin is a perfect fit for many young families. There is a great area of astroturf where the littles can safely run or crawl out their energy- and near the holidays you can grab a pretty picture perfect holiday card photo right there (see last image)! And there is tons of comfortable shade in the Seaholm area (see couples shoot here) which is also suitable for families!
I mean - how perfect is this for a Holiday Card photo?!
We are lucky in Austin to have so many wonderful locations to choose from for photos sessions. Occasionally I will have a family who wants the best of both worlds - urban and nature backgrounds for their family portraits. One easy fix to this conundrum - Mueller Lake Park and, just across the road, Aldrich St which is a more urban area with shops, restaurants, bars, and tons of cool colors and textures for interesting backdrops.
